'12 Dry Riesling
Our Riesling comes from a small vineyard located in Mendocino’s Potter Valley. Situated less than 20 miles north of Ukiah at the headwaters of the East Fork of the Russian River, Potter Valley experiences hot days and cool nights that help retain good acidity in the wines. The 2012 vintage was one of the best on record for Mendocino grape growers.
A lack of late season rain combined with warm days and cool nights created an ideal growing season with bountiful crops.
Our Riesling was cold fermented with champagne yeast to 100% dryness. The cold fermentation preserves the fruit flavor, aromas and balanced acidity of the wine. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged on the lees for five months.
honeysuckle, jasmine and candied orange open up to flavors of tart
granny smith apples and mandarin oranges, with a balanced acidity and
spicy finish. This is a great food wine, perfect for light summer meals.
