2010 Gary's Improv Zin 1.5L

Vineyard
The fruit for our 2010 Gary’s Improv Zinfandel came from a small vineyard located in Calistoga near the Silverado Trail. 2010 was a cool year with several heat spikes that help accelerate grape cluster maturation. Over all, it was a long growing season that created some of the most elegant wines to date. Calistoga is an ideal growing region for producing fruit driven zinfandels.

Winemaking
This wine was aged in second fill French Oak barrels for 16 months to accentuate this varietals natural spice character, while creating a subtle oak character.

Tasting Notes
This wine opens up with subtle aromas of cherries followed by hints of toasted vanilla. The palate reveals flavors of blackberry jam and a touch of spice. Medium to full bodied wine with supple tannins and a smooth finish.
